Today! Tomorrow! The constant declarations of my often-flying mind. Anticipation is a constant state for the spirit of a working artist.
Good gravy! How I love to do this work. It exhilarates and humbles me. It is fraught with risks minor (vulnerability, bad reviews, empty houses) and perhaps major (swells of debt, continued drift from “secure” paths of convention) but it challenges and fulfills me.
It has been my terrific fortune being free to pursue this work. I am able to do so because of the constant support and inspiration I receive from more people than I could ever name.
In a few hours I’ll head into town to set up for tonight’s gathering. To my delight, a group of wonderful people are confirmed to be in attendance. I am so thrilled to have them on my side–and you, faithful reader, even if you cannot join us.
Relative to past and future events, tonight is a casual gathering. It is a pleasant, compact bridge between the global tour and the campaign I plan to wage in this country next fall.
That’s tomorrow. Today, I’ve got a grant application to work on, and a show to do tonight. Wish me luck, and thanks for your continued support!
Jack

hi Jack. I am in Sarasota (sarah soda) this week performing. I WAS JUST TALKING ABOUT YOU LAST NIGHT!!
where are you this moment??
Hi Bill. Thanks so very much for talking about me last night! I was performing, and maybe channeling your energy a little. At the moment I received your comment I was on one of my day jobs, an adult day care center that was brought to mind during “Beyond Words.” (“This is love, this is love, this is love…”)
